Heidi brought up this little pool for the backyard and it was a hit. They filled it with warm water from the shower house, so they swam a long time.

These plants. I spent a lot of money on them a few years ago, like forty dollars each. They struggled to get going. Then the siding guys busted them off flat with the ground, destroyed. It has taken a couple years for them to recover this much.
But this year a flower! A pretty pink flower! We suspect they need more sun, but that’s not happening on this side of the cabin. This is progress anyway.
And this–two years ago I divided a chunk off the hosta on the other side of the steps and we watered it and tended it, and it’s taking off.
But now I think the doggone deer attacked it. Hostas are tough. It’ll be back better than ever next year and might even recover this year.
