Today at the grocery store, Julia wanted a magazine. Real bad. She was clutching it to her chest, eyes closed. It wasn’t actually Tiger Beat, but something much like it. (Bay City Rollers?) I said okay. Well, she’s been so absorbed in that thing ALL DAY. She’s trying very hard to read anything she can
That’s what we did today. We watched two babies and goofed around. These little pants are hilarious, unexpected. There’s another pair with a squirrel on the seat. They were a gift and a treat. We did the sprinkler, and that’s the best place for a toddler to eat a Moo Jr. Eventually he got cold

this morning i thought we should have bought flowers. then i remembered we have a garden full of them, dur. Today was James’ confirmation at church. It’s that old Lutheran thing, middle school kids take classes after they’re too old for Sunday School, and then right before high school they finish, and there’s a special

We don’t have central air. It’s incompatible with the boiler and radiator system, but we do have window air conditioners.
Tim’s room is done! Finally! We pulled it together yesterday, and it’s wonderful, not gonna lie. It can’t be toy storage either–that was a huge problem before, too much junk in the room. It was hard to take care of a room that cluttered. We were using the closets as clothes storage–outgrown clothes in one,
These weird looking little things turn into somewhat attractive orange butterflies eventually. He’s giving her a bit of advice here. Pretty sure she’s not going to take it. That’s how she is. Don’t worry. She’ll figure it out. Save your breath. This little patio rambler was here this week. He reads books in the hallway.

and their dads– These quick weekend pictures of Julia and her dad caught me tonight. This is me and MY dad, Pam in my lap, back in 1963. Here’s Kirby in 1987. And Heidi in 1988. My mom and her dad in 1943. I have no particular point here, and yet I do. It’s easy
