We spent the afternoon with these people. It was fairly warm for January, and the sun was bright. John built a fire. Jay and this little girl in the green coat are birthday buddies, and he was delighted when she was born on his birthday, loves sharing it with her. She likes the idea too.

We had supper for Kirsten’s birthday, not the usual wild party, just us, very quiet. We had chicken divan and cake and gifts and candles, very sweet. I cooked up at the lake and brought the food home to put in the oven. This guy kept me company while I worked, played piano After supper
